Blake Koch has created a large fan base over the past four years, while competing in the NASCAR XFINITY and Sprint Cup Series. Koch began racing at the age of 22 after graduating from college with an Associate degree in Marketing and Business from Northwood University. Prior to racing on four wheels, Blake Koch raced on 2 wheels and was considered one of the top 20 motor-cross riders in the state of Florida.
In 2009, with only 20 amateur races under his belt, Blake Koch was recruited to be a primary driver for the Richard Childress Driver Development team in the NASCAR K&N West series. As he finished his rookie season eighth in the point standings, Koch began to catch a lot of attention from NASCAR veterans. In 2011, after only three years behind the wheel of a stock car, Koch went full-time into the NASCAR XFINITY Series. In his first 10 career XFINITY Series races, Koch earned five top-25 finishes.
In 2012, Koch continued to compete in the XFINITY Series. As Koch’s career progressed and another season approached, in 2013 he signed on to drive full-time for SR2 Motorsports. Testing the waters with a new team, the Florida native signed a one-race deal with RAB Racing for the season finale at Homestead Miami Speedway. Qualifying second, Koch capped off the season with an 11th place finish.
Koch signed with TriStar Motorsports in 2014 to drive the No. 44 Toyota Camry. During the 2014 season, Koch earned three Top-20 finishes and nine Top-25 finishes. Re-signing with TriStar Motorsports for the 2015 NASCAR XFINITY season, Koch will pilot the No. 8 Toyota Camry in all 33 NXS races with LeafFilter™ as the primary sponsor.
Residing in Huntersville, NC, Koch and wife, Shannon have two children, Carter and Bailey and their dog, Junior. In his off time, Blake Koch enjoys hunting, fishing, working out and spending time with his family.
